Please carefully read the instructions below before submitting your abstract
RULES FOR SUBMISSION
- Each presenting author is only allowed to submit one abstract as the primary presenter but can be listed as a coauthor on multiple abstracts. Any additional submissions from the same presenting author will be disqualified.
- Presenting authors must be registered attendees. Abstract acceptance does not automatically register you for the meeting. To ensure your abstract is included in the program and publications, you must complete your registration by 23:59 CEST on September 15, 2025. Participants are strongly encouraged to register early. The conference has sold out in previous years. Late registrants may have to be located at a hotel away from the conference center. Registration can be completed through the congress website [LINK wil be available starting from January 15].
- Abstracts must be submitted online through the designated portal. Submissions by email, fax, or post will not be accepted.
- Submitted abstracts will be considered for oral or poster presentations. You may indicate a preference, but the Abstract Review Committee will make the final determination. Notification of presentation format and acceptance will be provided by July 21, 2025.
- The presenting author is responsible for confirming that all co-authors are aware of and agree to the abstract’s content before submission.
- Submission of an abstract implies acceptance for publication in official symposium materials. Abstracts must be original and not previously published.
- Abstracts stating “data will be discussed in the presentation” will not be accepted.
Abstract preparation guidelines
- Abstracts must be written in English.
- Abstracts should contain text only (no tables, figures, or graphs).
- Abstract title should be in uppercase and must not exceed 20 words.
- Abstract text must not exceed 300 words, including acknowledgements. Abstracts exceeding this limit will not be considered.
- Abstract text should be in continuous narrative style with no subheadings (e.g. Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions).
TRAVEL AWARD ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Please indicate if you wish to be considered for a travel award at the time of the submission by selecting the relevant box on the abstract submission portal. Travel award requests submitted via email will not be considered.
- To be eligible for a travel award you must fall into one of the following categories:
- Student.
- Postdoc within 5 years of terminal degree.
- Faculty and research scientists within 10 years of terminal degree.
- Travel awardees are expected to attend the Special Session from 4–6 PM on October 7, followed by a networking dinner, the BrightFocus Glaucoma Fast Track on October 8, and the ISER/BrightFocus Glaucoma Symposium from October 8–11.
- To be eligible for underrepresented minority travel (URM) awards, you must complete the demographics section and provide a rationale explaining URM status.
- Travel awardees will be notified by July 30, 2025.
- Travel awardees must be registered attendees. Abstract acceptance and/or an offer of a travel award do not automatically register you for the meeting; you must complete your registration by 23:59 CEST on September 15, 2025. Participants are strongly encouraged to register early, as the conference has sold out in previous years. Registration can be completed through the congress website [LINK will be available starting from January 15].
- Travel awardees will receive a post-meeting reimbursement for BrightFocus Glaucoma Fast Track and full or partial meeting registration, determined by abstract score and/or geographic location. The total award amount will be disclosed at the time of the travel award notification.
- Travel awardees will be assigned to a double occupancy room with another travel awardee of the same gender.
